Our business began as Integrated Container Service, Inc., a Pennsylvania corporation engaged in the leasing of international marine containers and chassis.
1971
The company name was changed to the Interway Corporation.
1979
The Interway Corporation began doing business as Transamerica Interway, Inc. after it was acquired by Transamerica Corporation, a large conglomerate with interests in finance, insurance, real estate, leasing, entertainment, and other businesses.
1980
Triton Container International Limited was incorporated in 1980 and became a leading global lessor of intermodal freight containers. The company specialized in leasing and selling various container types, including dry, refrigerated, open-top, flat-rack containers, container chassis, and IMO tanks.
1988
Transamerica Interway, Inc.'s name was changed to Transamerica Leasing Inc., and it grew to become a prominent provider of maritime container leasing services, operating globally with a substantial fleet.
2004
Transamerica Corporation sold Transamerica Leasing to Jordan Equity, rebranding the maritime container leasing business as TAL International Group, Inc.
2005
TAL International Group, Inc. went public in an IPO.
2011
Triton Container International Limited was sold to Warburg Pincus and Vestar, a consortium of private equity investors.
2016
TAL International Group, Inc. and Triton Container International Limited merged to form Triton International Limited, which grew to become the world's largest intermodal container leasing company. The combined company remained publicly listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
2023
Triton International Limited was acquired by Brookfield Infrastructure through its subsidiary Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation.
