A day of teamwork and service at SPCA Westchester
22 October 2026

The focus

Members of the Purchase team recently spent a meaningful day volunteering at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Westchester. With great weather as the backdrop, the team was excited to step away from the office, spend time together and support an organization that provides compassionate care for dogs, cats and other pets.

Our efforts

The team rolled up their sleeves to weed, rake and spread woodchips throughout the outdoor play yards. With only one person responsible for maintaining the shelter’s grounds, keeping up with everything is a tremendous undertaking. SPCA Westchester relies on volunteers to lend a hand, and it was rewarding to see how a few hours of teamwork could make such a visible difference.

After completing the outdoor projects, the team enjoyed a guided tour of the facility and had the chance to meet a dog available for adoption, along with many other animals hoping to find homes.

“Supporting our local SPCA was an amazing experience,” said Annemarie Gaspari, Senior Manager, IT Helpdesk & Operations at Triton. “Working together as a team, we accomplished the cleanup tasks and made a positive impact on the facility. Once our work was complete, we were treated to a tour and had the chance to meet many of the animals in their care. The dogs greeted us with endless wagging tails, while the cats entertained us with their curiosity. Their unconditional love and appreciation were the perfect reward for a day well spent.”

The impact

In just a few hours, the team transformed the shelter’s outdoor play yards into cleaner, safer and more welcoming spaces for the animals. The visible results showed how a focused day of teamwork can make a meaningful difference, not only to the facility, but also to the dogs and cats who depend on it while waiting for their forever homes.
