Starting the day with our customers in mind

Every workday starts with a coffee. After that, I usually review emails and check for any urgent operational matters from customers or internal teams, especially because we work across multiple European markets and time zones. I prioritize my day based on customer urgency, ongoing negotiations, and operational follow-ups.
What does a typical day look like?
A typical day can include supporting customers with operational questions, discussing potential new leasing requirements, negotiating contract extensions, scheduling in-person customer visits, and identifying new business opportunities. A large part of the role is also proactively maintaining relationships with existing customers to better understand their future needs and market developments.
Working across teams and time zones
Teamwork is extremely important in this role. Daily, we collaborate closely with departments such as procurement, operations, customer service, product management, credit, and pricing. A commercial role is not only about maintaining customer relationships, but also about coordinating effectively with all internal stakeholders to find the best solutions for the customer.

We know when to work hard, but without losing personal connections with colleagues. Every deal or agreement is built on teamwork, so maintaining strong relationships internally is very important. That’s one of the reasons why the atmosphere in the Antwerp office is so positive and enjoyable to work in.
Finding solutions to challenges
Finding new lease customers can be challenging, especially since smaller and mid-sized companies are not always financially strong or may lack the required insurance documentation. The challenge is to find a solution that works for both parties while properly managing risk and maintaining a good commercial relationship.
Persistence, a strong commercial mindset, and stakeholder management are all very important.

What makes the role rewarding?
Building long-term and personal relationships with customers is one of the most rewarding parts of the job. I also really enjoy the process of working toward a lease agreement and the satisfaction that comes from successfully closing a deal after long negotiations and preparation.
This role offers a great combination of commercial responsibility and relationship building. No two days are the same, which keeps the job both challenging and rewarding. If you enjoy working with people, solving problems, and operating in a fast-paced international environment, this can be a very fulfilling career path.
